Dark Heat Transfer Paper — Vibrant Prints on Dark Fabrics and Coated Mugs
Designed specifically for dark cotton and cotton-blend fabrics, this dark heat transfer paper features a built-in white carrier layer that blocks the underlying fabric color — so your designs stay bright and true even on black T-shirts. It also works on heat-transfer-coated mugs, opening up a wide range of customization possibilities.
White Carrier Layer for True Color on Dark Surfaces
Unlike light-color transfer paper, this paper is constructed with three layers: the printed design layer, a white carrier underlayer, and a release backing. During transfer, the design and the white underlayer move together onto the material. The white layer blocks the dark fabric color from showing through, carries the ink film, and keeps colors vivid and saturated — the key reason this paper performs on black, navy, and other deep-colored fabrics.
How to Use
  1. Print your design with a standard inkjet printer — no need to mirror the image.
  2. Trim closely around the design outline to remove excess white border.
  3. Place the paper printed side face down onto the material.
  4. Press at 165°C for 25 seconds with medium-high pressure.
  5. Peel off the backing sheet and let the print cool.
Recommended Temperature and Pressure
Optimal transfer results are achieved at 165°C / 25 seconds with medium-high pressure. For fabrics, pre-press for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and ensure flat contact. For coated mugs, use a mug heat press with a silicone sleeve to ensure even pressure across the curved surface.
What It Works On — and What It Doesn't
Ideal for dark cotton T-shirts, canvas bags, cushions, aprons, and coated ceramic or stainless-steel mugs. Please note: the mug must have a heat-transfer coating — uncoated ceramics, glass, plastics, melamine, double-wall insulated tumblers, and cups with glued-on decorations are not suitable.
Care Instructions
For fabrics: machine wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle; avoid tumble drying to extend the life of the print. For mugs: hand wash only; do not place in a dishwasher, and avoid scrubbing the printed area with abrasive pads.
